Like many photographers out there, I love to photograph just about anything I can get my hands on. I'm still a newbie but I'm learning something new everyday. I started photography when I was in middle school (1996), I wanted to document my friends, the sport I loved to play, and my siblings as we grew up together. Was I good? of course not, I was just a kid having fun taking pictures with their trusty disposable camera. Between middle school and college I was the friend that always had a camera in their hands. I was the one they all called mom, because I was constantly asking people to look at me for a group picture. Fast forward to 2016, I needed a career change and fell back on my love for photography. This time in the form of editor/retoucher. I spent a solid year taking classes about portrait editing and slowly built up a portfolio. 2017 we moved back from Houston to Albuquerque and I landed a gig as the editor for a local wedding photographer. There I learned portrait/wedding photography basics, upgraded from a Canon Rebel to the Nikon D750 and started second shooting during weddings. In June of 2019, I finally decided to venture out of my comfort zone. I went to a local meetup for photographers & models and started working on my own portrait skills. I shot as much as I possibly could with this new group of like minded friends. My skill level improved quickly with so much practice. Covid has definitely put a damper on leveling up but I can't let it get in the way of learning. Which is why I am now here on Flickr. I started this account once I join a new Photography club. My hope is that it keeps me moving forward in my pursuit of education and creativity.

My main focus is portrait photography, I love interacting with people to create something truly unique. I really want to refine my skills in the fine art realm of portraiture. Having a team to create something special is what my goal is for the future. Collaboration is also something I crave, feeding off of other peoples energy and having spontaneous ideas that bring out the best in the group is always a joy to experience. However, my Flickr account will not focus on portraiture, instead this will be a place to help move my skills along in the other various avenues of photography.

I have a deep love of macro photography and would love to really nail down how to properly achieve the images that I want to capture. Understanding macro composition, lighting, and editing is something I need to educate myself on.
