I think creativity, good creativity, should be always repaid, at least with kind words. Maybe some will have limited resources, or not just as good ideas like others, to be exceptional in what they are creating, but nonetheless they are on a good path and they deserve positive thoughts, because positive thinking is what should motivates us to keep going.
I like minifigures, but I am not a purist, especially because I find the biggest brand in this business to be too simple in design and too expensive in price, let's not forget that, quality lies in the eyes of the beholder.
I realised that if you want to have a particular character that you like from a movie, comics, and so on, you have 50\50 chances to find and buy, something that you like, and even less chances to find something at all, if is not that popular.
I decided to start creating my own, by doing custom minifigures in my free time, only for those that I can't find, or I don't like what I find.
I don't work with clay, (but I don't have anything against it) I do a lot of plastic sanding, for the shapes, I try to use materials close to what is always used together with minifigures, mostly different types of plastic, but also leather, sometimes real metal for chains, but never wood, paper or other materials that are not going to be durable.
I use a rotary tool for cutting and sanding, 2 types of glue, paint markers, and other small tools and methods, that I invented to make my life easier :)
I try always to achieve a durable and reliable result, because at the end of the day, this are toys, and in case someone will want to play with them, it could be a rough handling.
You can take inspiration from my customs, if you want, all I ask is that you tag me in the photo so I can see it. I am curious about the creative spins people put on their customs.
All the best to everyone interested in my work, and I hope you will like it.
