In 2014, we were planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and Utah, to see Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands and Arches. Vaughn is gathering his photography equipment and telling me the places he wanted to see. I asked the now famous question, "What am I going to do while you are taking pictures?"
I got a little Sony NEX-5T and began my photography journey. I got some great shots on our trip, but I am a gardener and wanted to take flowers, which led to taking images of hummingbirds in my gardens. I've moved to a Sony a6300 and now a 6400 and added a Sigma 100-400 lens. Most recently I've added a Sony a6700 camera and a Sony 200-600 lens.
With Vaughn's passing in February 2024, capturing the beauty of the natural world through photography has become even more important to me. I am happiest when I am outdoors with my camera.

I agree with Jim ! Hummingbirds are one of the most challenging subjects to be photographed. Marjorie does it extremely well !
