Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
I'm an Aussie formerly based in Boston, all my Flickr posts from June 2020 to Feb 2021 are from the US. Just a novice, starting out with my first DSLR and kit lens. I got my first DSLR camera - a Canon 2000D/T7 Rebel - in June 2020. Pretty much self-taught albeit watching a few videos on YouTube. In November 2020, I stumbled across the free photo editing software, GIMP. I'm on a tight budget and that's all I can afford right now. I'm absolutely inspired by some of the wonderful photography displayed on Flickr. Even though I'm only using an entry level DSLR and free software editing, my aim is to draw from this inspiration and try and achieve the best results that I can. I'm trying to capture as many images as I can of things that I like. Any tips from you pros out there are always welcome.
Update:- In June 2021, I made the leap and purchased an Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop subscription. Once again, it's a steep learning curve, but one I'm enjoying immensely.
Update:- Nov 2022, after 2.5 years toiling away with my first DSLR, I made the switch to a mirrorless camera. I scrimped and saved and after a ton of research, I bought myself a Canon EOS R6. I don't have a minute of regret with the T7 Rebel. It was a great way to get into photography. Learning the ropes on a basic system and trying to create the best images possible, I think, has made me a better photographer.
