I am; a semi-retired engineer, currently living in Sydney Australia but looking at moving to the country.

- Married to a beautiful, charming and very tolerant lady, whom I met during a company transfer to the UK in the 1980s and we have two adult daughters who very luckily take after their mother rather than their father.

- Still active in trade associations, industry groups and on the Australian Standards - Fire sprinkler committee. Hence my being lured out of retirement to do a little consulting work.

My strong interested in history and technology has been unabated since school, and that was a major factor in my career choice. I have been heavily involved with a small military museum society "The Chase Museum Inc" since its founding in the early 90s.

The museum concentrates on Australian Military History from the start of responsible government of the Australasian colonies in the early 1870s through to the end of WW1, There is also representative material from WW2 to current conflicts. With the museum my specialist fields are the support services of transport and communications through to 1918, include visual signals, wireless, horse draught and motor lorries.
