Recently retired Software Engineer. Long time model and prototype railroad enthusiast. Starting to review the thousands of photographs I have taken and beginning to showcase S Scale 1/64th modeling and post some of my 'S' Scale models and acquired layout here.
Albums created showcasing Doug Evans' portable layout at the All 'S' Scale Shows at Carmel IN in 2007 and 2008. Also, for a number of years at Doug's hometown at the Batesville IN Library. Photos here from 2009 and 2012. There, he would set up the portable layout for the Christmas Holiday and display his fabulous models. Doug also displayed his portable layout at his home with his TWO S Scale basement layouts and large HO layout.
Then Doug's ultimate decision to get out of the portable layout business. Our agreement was that I would be the next caretaker for the layout.
See the "How this all came about...." photo here below and also the first in the Flickr Photostream.
With Doug's untimely passing in early 2014, was able to add models from Doug’s estate. My modeling endeavors include the C&O to the western most point in Peru Indiana. Interchanging with the Rock Island, Chicago Great Western, Monon and ‘Missed and Still Loved’ M&StL. Plus, whatever odd ball items that catches my eye.
A special album is devoted to the late Tom Boldt. He built and painted models for many of the local club members and friends and customers in and out of state. His daughter tracked me down here on Flickr. Seeing just a few of his models already listed. That prompted me to build the album of Tom's work. She, her Husband and two young Children was able to view more examples of his work.
Being retired finally, looking forward to building the many 'S' Scale kits collected over the past 2 decades. Plus, the continuing activity of adding more photos of newly acquired and older models.
The Board of Directors of National Association of ’S’ Gaugers selected me as the recipient of the 2025 “Josh Seltzer Award”. It was announced at the 2025 NASG Convention in Norwich Connecticut.
The Josh Seltzer Award was designed to recognize those who have a passion for supporting and promoting S-scale modeling via any form of electronic media.
My FLICKR page currently contains over 260+ photographs and videos of my endeavors in ’S’ Scale, my layout that I acquired from the late Doug Evans, and models I have acquired over the years.
Josh Seltzer was a local Cleveland guy in the Cleveland Cuyahoga Valley S Guagers Association Club. I knew him. He passed way too soon in 2003.
But, he strongly promoted the 1/64th scale in many ways. Being from Cleveland also, it is an honor to get the award.
Also, the second Clevelander to be awarded this honor, with my friend Chris Borgmeyer.
