Having grown up in South Africa, David witnessed, first hand, the Apartheid policies of his homeland, and, in his own way, opposed it. He understands and speaks Zulu, from his Durban upbringing, and having served in the South African Army, commanding Zulu soldiers. He is a wonderful raconteur, and expresses his life experience in stories, lectures, and now, in illustrations.
