Covid-19 a virus that shut down almost the entire world, and due to the virus the governor ordered us to stay at home as much as possible. Other states and countries have done the same, and shut down most businesses deemed not essential. In direct effect of the shut down millions of people are out of work until further notice, some are lucky enough to bring their work home and keep earning a living during this time. While others like me who work in the restaurant industry have to file for unemployment and we have no idea when we will be working again. We have now been under a “Shelter in place” order for about 2 weeks, so getting out and of the house has been difficult. Unless you have a place out in the middle of nowhere up north.

I understand that this is a very serious matter and people are loosing their lives and families are loosing fathers, mothers, grand parents etc. Everyone stressed about the unknown and what is going to happen; however I want to point out a positive that has come from Covid. This is the first time in a while where the entire nation has come together to restore faith, be humble to others and really support each other in this crisis. Families are decorating their front doors. Windows and drive ways with rainbows for Rainbows over Michigan a group that is trying to spread positivity during these darks day.

Covid -19 has brought a lot of pain to our nation and to our world, Not being a to see our families and loved ones, a good portion of the world left unemployed with no light at the end of the tunnel. We know that when we return to our normal lives there will be many changes regarding social distancing and new rules to live by. However we will come out stronger and more prepared for the next time this happens, and as history shows this wasn’t the first and wont be the last time we deal with an outbreak of an infectious disease. Although hopefully we never have to deal with this again.
