George grew up in New Britain Connecticut and fought in WW II with the 88th Infantry. He was a member of the Mountain Laurel skiers ski club in the 1950's, organizing a trip to the Alps in 1956. George married Margaret O'Day of New Haven, Connecticut in 1963 and had two boys. He died in 1989.
