I am a career railwayman of 45 years almost all in train maintenance of some form or other now working for TfL. I have a particular passion for all things Southern Region. This mainly means class 73 and class 442. The latter seem to have followed me around for years being involved in their introduction, their later refurbishment and commuted to work as part of Gatwick Express. Now into their third age I can sit back and enjoy them. The same, to a certain extent, goes for the class 73 which I have had the pleasure of working on and training apprentices and fitters.
