I am a retired railroader, having spent 41 years, 4 months and 5 days either at the throttle (27 years), as a yardmaster (5 years), or as a trainman (9 years), employed by, first, Central California Traction Co., and later Western Pacific Railroad. During an economic downturn in 1977, I established seniority as a brakeman on the Oregon, California & Eastern Railway in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This was a small but memorable segment of my career (59 days) ending when I was recalled to service by CCT Co. With the WP "Mop-UP" merger in late 1982 my paychecks began arriving from Omaha, Nebraska, and with UP's takeover of Southern Pacific in 1996 my routes of travel expanded accordingly.

Virtually all of my photography was accomplished using either a Nikon F2 or a Mamiya 645 with a variety of lenses for each camera.
