I like to photograph small, interesting, often overlooked creatures including plants, insects, and fungi. Most of my subjects are an inch or smaller, so you are seeing them many times larger than life size!
I use a technique called focus stacking that combines many photos, each focused at a slightly different distance, into a single photo. Focus stacking achieves a level of detail and depth of field on tiny subjects that would otherwise be impossible. That's also why I don't have all that many photos, as each focus stack takes several hours from start to finish!
My photos are often not the most "flashy" as nature is often not the most flashy. I don't increase contrast, saturation, or modify hues to make something look edgy. I don't significantly edit out blemishes, debris, or imperfections. Nature and ecology are fascinating in their complexity and imperfections already. No big edits are needed. Over-editing is a disservice to, and misrepresentation of, nature and ecology, which are not catered to human tastes.
