I suppose my interest in photography started when my sister bought me a Kodak Instamatic when I was maybe 10 or 11. Since then I've owned a range of cameras including 2 slrs, 2 dslrs and a number of point and shoots, both film and digital. I've now settled on Sony and am very happy. For me photography is an adjunct to my love of natural history, and it fits well with my leisure interests of birdwatching, long walks and bike rides. The bird photography is coming along, along with some light macro and I am increasingly interested in land and seascapes. There's a number of phone photos, my Galaxy s20 does have a nice camera; I have had a few pics in Explore so far, including phone photos. I do not interfere with any wildlife I photograph, and insects in my photos are completely unmolested. Everything you see on my photostream was taken by me.
I have recently been revising my gear and now have a Sony A7CR with lenses from Sigma and Zeiss as well as some vintage lenses from a variety of manufacturers. For wildlife I use my my Sigma 150-600 Sports lens, but I also have an APSC lens, the Sony 70-350 which is useful for longer walks when the weight of the Sigma would be inhibiting My walkabout lens is the Batis 40mm, a superb lens with the famous Zeiss 3D pop. My other camera is the one on my smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy s20 5g.
I use Bridge, Photoshop CC, Topaz DeNoiseAI & SharpenAI and HDRSoft Photomatix Pro - sometimes all at the same time! Never got on with Lightroom, I don't need the organising features as I've been organising my own photos since 2003.
