I have always been fascinated with ladies hairdo’s particularly roller sets. It probably started when a young child and Mum would take me with her for her regular shampoo and set at an old fashioned ladies salon. I was enthralled by all these ladies with their hair in masses of rollers sitting netted under hood dryers. As a teenager I would set my hair in Mum’s rollers (a mixture of plastic rollers with the elasticated ball to secure and brush rollers).
When I left home in my early 20’s and moved into my first flat I bought my own rollers, pins, net and makeup. At that time my hair was long enough for 1 inch and 1/2 inch rollers and curly styles were more common. I would often spend a Saturday evening where I would dye my hair using a temporary colour, often a chestnut brown or red. After combing through a strong setting lotion (I still remember the smell), my roller set would be tight with about 30-40 rollers held with pins, and finally a net and cotton wool ear pads would complete the set. I loved the prickly feel of the rollers on my scalp. Then I would do full makeup (foundation and powder, eye shadow, eye liner, and red lipstick) and sit under a bonnet dryer spending the evening en femme. Later I would brush out the hair in a bouffant curly style with plenty of setting spray. I loved the feel of the hard set hair. On occasions I would sleep in rollers and wake-up in the morning with that tight feeling on the head.
Over the years I have been an occasional private cross dresser and when is hair long enough enjoy a tight roller set under a hairnet with ear pads and sitting under a soft drier. This extended to a fuller transformation including piercing my ears, adding a bra and padding and applying false nails and eyelashes and wearing ladies clothing. On occasions I ventured outdoors in rollers under a hooded jacket for a walk and when no-one around took the hood down and would walk around enjoying the thrill of being en femme.
I have very little opportunity now to cross dress but it is fun to play with AI image generation to live out my desires. I wish I was bold enough to try a proper cross dressing experience.
