I have a Pro account because I was able to afford it for the last three years, but now that I see the new fee, I’m not sure I'll keep it.
I'm not a Pro by any means. Photography has been my hobby for four decades. My first camera, which I bought on layaway, was a Canon AE-1 with a 35-105mm zoom lens in the mid-90s. After focusing on the start of my career, I took a break from photography. By the mid-2000s, I decided to get back into it. By then, digital cameras were the new thing, and I bought a Nikon D40x DSLR with an 18-55mm zoom lens. A few years later, I upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark II with a 24-70mm zoom lens.
Not long after buying the 5D, I was working 70-80 hours a week for 5-7 months at a time, so photography took a back seat. However, I was still taking photos with my phone. In 2020, during COVID, I sold my 5D along with three additional lenses for financial reasons. For Christmas 2021, my wife wanted to buy me a camera, so I opted for the Fujifilm XT4 with the 18-55mm zoom kit lens.
I have always enjoyed landscape and cityscape photography and have been a low-level car enthusiast for as long as I can remember. In March 2023, my industry took a dive. In November 2023, after waiting for the industry to recover and being bored out of my mind, I had an epiphany: I needed to get out and take photos again since I finally had the time and subject matter.
CARS! I have always liked them; now I love them and enjoy photographing them even more. It’s my newest obsession. What you see in my last 10 pages (or depending on when you read this) is the work that I have produced since November 2023.
I really appreciate you following me on my new journey of car photography, and I am truly thankful for your faves and comments.
