I live in the rural village of Musquodoboit Harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada, in a cottage situated right beside the river. I participated in the National Geographic Your Shot website since 2010, and when the Your Shot website was shut down in 2019, I migrated to Flickr and created this photo gallery. I have been taking photos ever since I was in high school, using the school darkroom to develop B&W photographs. Working as a portrait artist in the mediums of charcoal and watercolour, and reading about art history have contributed to my awareness of the nuances of the visual grammar of photographic image making.

I have grown accustomed to dream filled travels along the Musquodoboit river and harbor, and to explore layered reflections in cafes and stores in Hallifax, Nova Scotia. If you would enjoy such an experience then join Lawrence on such a journey through his rich and expertly composed imagery. He has the eagle eye for picking out abstract detail and the knowledge of art to present it in a meaningful way. Lawrence has a voice and eloquence that enriches the lives of all he crosses paths with. Following him at National Geographic Your Shot and here on flickr has been a daily highlight for me.
