I have been a keen photographer on and off since I was 16 I had a Kodak Instamatic 32 camera in 1972 .Then in the later in about 1973 I bought my first film Chinon 35mm camera at Dixons Chelmsford Essex with interchangeable lens. Then my first digital camera in 2009 and started taking photos of Birds and Butterflies with a Canon 450D followed later by the 550D then the 70D.. Then in 2017 I went from lugging around the heavyweight SLR Canon camera with heavy lenses to the light weight of the mirrorless Fuji XT20 with now down to just two lenses. It’s easy to use the Fijifilm camera most adjustable settings you need are on the outside of the Fuji camera with a turn of a dial or one press of a button for the quick menu “great stuff “keep things simple you don’t have to go into any lengthy programs or menus just to make one adjustment. On the Fujifilm camera to adjust the exposure compensation it’s on a dial on the outside of the camera as you turn the dial adjustment you can see the difference it will make to the photo exposure through the viewfinder how easy is that.👍😀.
I’m still taking photos of butterflies and Damselflies but not the birds now 2023.
SLR cameras are good but very heavy with the lenses to carry around all the time. Most manufacturers are stopping the production of SLR cameras now and favour the mirroless camera.
Some people will buy the top of the range camera and equipment and spent a fortune just to try and look good.
We used to say at work some people have ( got all the gear ) but no idea.👍
The 1960s and 1970s were the best decades on this planet by a million miles period 👍
