Calgary, Alberta born; trained in an artist's studio with a grounding in engraving, etching, serigraph, lithography for advertising, and fine art. Worked in Western Canada as an artist in residence for newspapers, printing houses, as well as freelance and as an Art Director. As staff artist for the BC Government Queen's Printer created many pieces for visiting dignitaries and royalty as well as all the departments of Government, publications, historical medallions, logos, etc., including the Order of the Dogwood. In his final years there headed up the Prep Department's change to the computer age. In the private sector was a Director of the Community Arts council and was a member of Group XIV. Was involved with Graphic Arts International, and was an original member of Island Illustrators. An award-winning participant of many juried shows and was active in arranging many art workshops in Victoria, BC where he has lived since 1929. Was one of three artists selected to be part of a National Book Week travelling show for children's book illustrators. For many years in the 1980s and 90s had a consuming interest in Liturgical Art.
