My name is Charles I was born in the summer of 1980 and I have spent most of my life in Missouri. Growing up in a split home I had the luxury of seeing life from the suburbs and a small farm. Thanks to an excellent step-father who spent time with me outdoors hunting, fishing, and teaching me to be an outdoorsman. Those experiences sparked my passion for the outdoors and led me to attend a hunting guide school near Bozeman, Montana on my 18th birthday.
Sometimes life has other plans and blessed me with the birth of my first son in 1999. Ultimately shifting my focus to a more stable career in the new-plumbing industry as a 19-year-old. At 19 years old I was always longing for the freedom and adventure that comes with the outdoors causing me to feel anxious, unsatisfied, bored, and longing for adventure. While I did my best to be a good father and provider for my son, I was not yet the man I wanted to be. After four or five years of self-discovery and odd jobs, I became a jack of all trades, master of none and still searching for more. So, before I became old and started wondering what if, I joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and served with Alpha Company 2-27 Infantry as an Infantryman.
This was personally the best choice I ever made. Ok, it’s the second-best choice I ever made. Marrying my very beautiful and understanding wife was my best and wisest choice. It’s no secret that life is different for those who have seen war and transitioned back to civilian life. Without my wife and four sons, I don’t believe I would have all this grey hair or be where I am today mentally and physically. All my life’s challenges have brought me to a time in my life where I hope to share the simple beauties of life through nature and a patient mind.
