Hello there !!!

I'm Herbert Catania and I hail from the lovely island of Malta, which is located in the Centre of the Mediterranean Sea. I have just hit my sixties. I have a soft spot for nature, landscape, architecture, street, candid and last but far from least, B&W photography. Recently I am also delving into Macro too.

As the dictum goes, my photography says a lot about the way I see things, not to mention the dire passion of being behind a camera of course!

A now Retired Banker by profession, I've been into photography ever since I was a kid thanks to my Dad (Francis X) and my two elder brothers; Joe & Edwin. As a teenager, I took loads of film and slides with my then Olympus OM10 & OM4Ti SLRs, which I still dearly possess. The exigencies of work, other interests (My other hobby is Amateur Radio - callsign 9H1BD) and commitments had gradually pushed my hobby into a deep hibernation for quite a few years.

Quite fortunately, the flame has rekindled and I am now happily back into the world of digital photography.

I mainly use Nikon and Olympus systems & shoot raw. On the other side of the fence, Lightroom, Photoshop, Luminar Neo, DxO PhotoLab 8, DxO PureRAW4 & Topaz Sharpen AI are the main tools that I use for my editing work.

Please take some time to go through some of my photos here, I appreciate all comments thrown my way as these will surely help me improve on my photography.

I am very impressed by the high quality/technique photography on this site. I am confident that the interaction on this site should be beneficial to my never-ending learning curve.
