New Member Testimonials You always hear all these wild stories about how crazy skiers are, crashing, breaking legs and such. Pretty much the same things I've always heard about motor-cycling. By now I'm largely immune to such non-sense, education and years of riding experience has taught me otherwise. On a motorcycle, how you handle the ride is mostly a question of the skill you develop through training and experience. After that, it's up to you just how wild you choose to make the ride. So, rather naturally, when I decided to learn to ski, I figured it couldn't be any more wild than a typical dual-sport trek through the mountains. Upon exploring the options for learning to ski, I came back with the Schussmeisters as the strongest choice. I found the ski instruction with the Schussmeisters to be both excellent and exactly the case as I hypothesized above. All and all the lessons were both fun and challenging, all the while expanding my comfort zone. With the instructors focusing on the fundamentals of balance and control as well as proficiency, and lots of practice, I quickly progressed from very beginner to intermediate skills. By the end of the season, I was not only skiing confidently with the Schussmeisters on all of the trails at Mt. Holly, but also ventured out on my own over all of the slopes at Mt Brighton and Pine Knob. At the weekly meeting / ski nights and subsequent gathering of Schussmeisters in the lodge, joining the Schussmeisters proved not only to be a great way to learn to ski, but also a great way to ski, period. The Schussmeisters are a very fun loving, friendly, and generally sociable group of people. On the hill and in the lodge contests / activities entertained everyone and help break the ice. Thanks to the Schussmeisters, I look forward to the next year of experiencing the even more challenging runs of Northern Michigan, Ontario and the Western Ranges, as well as the general fun of skiing and hang'n with the Schussmeisters week in and week out.
