A few years ago I took early retirement. I was given a gift by my employer and wanted to choose something which would give me many years of pleasure. I chose a camera, a Canon 600D and here my love of photography began.

I am no expert with photography, most of my work is by trial and error and lots of attempts at trying different things. If I see something I like, I want to just capture that image. I particularly enjoy using a macro lens as the subject matter is endless. I like to wander around the garden and find the flowers and tiny life forms which most people would not even notice. I love nature and believe that every life form is precious and has it's place. Most of my photos are taken right here in my own backyard. I enjoy using Flickr, seeing and gaining inspiration from the work of others and trying out new ideas.
