When I was a kid in junior high, which was like 1970ish, I used to love to look at the postcards for sale in various stores. I loved the beautiful scenery and images that were captured on film and then printed. It astounded me. When we went on family vacations, I was never in the shots because I wanted to take the photos. When I got older, I bought a Canon AE-1, with a kit lens and telephoto lens and an aluminum tripod, all which I still have. I never got real good with it, but hey maybe it's worth something someday.
Several years ago I bought a Canon Rebel T6i digital with kit lenses. The only lenses I use are Sigma brand. The clarity and quality is just superior and cost is not bad. I primarily use two Sigma brands, a 50-100 mm, 1.4 USM telephoto and 18-35 mm 1.4 USM.
I've done photography and concert reviews for Amps and Green Screens, an entertainment blog which I'm no longer involved with and my first gig was in Prague, CZ. Prague Castle is my cover photo and the Astonomical Clock found there is my profile "circle". Prague is a beautiful city and I just loved visiting.
I love shooting concerts and feel I'm pretty good at it and my Sigmas never let me down. They are great for landscape photography as well. They are such good quality and I love how fast they are. Concerts are hard to shoot and you need a good, fast lens to keep up and if you explore, I've got lots of those here as well.
One thing I love to do is explore the back roads. I live in North Texas and quite honestly, there are a lot of back Texas roads. Lots of history on the back roads and I try to capture some of the more interesting stuff I find here and try to be creative in the process.
I hope you all enjoy some of the stuff I post. Regardless, I get a big sense of satisfaction doing this whether it pays or not. Wishing you the best in all things. Mark
