I am an avid birder and a photography enthusiast, who takes about 500 pics of birds per week just to end up with a few decent, but nowhere near pro photos. I don't use a tripod! I live in a bird sanctuary on acreage in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. I have many species on my property due to the habitat: Tall pines, cedars & oaks, many bushes, including Blackberry bushes, and am about 200 yards from a lake. I have been studying the Acorn woodpeckers on my property for many years. Other favorite birds here are the Steller's Jay, California Quail, Bushtit, Oak Titmouse and Purple Finch.
