SFHomeless Yahoo Group
Drag to set position!
This is a community group started in November of 2007 by and for the poor, elderly, veterans, disabled, mentally and physically disabled People of San Francisco.
It's goal is to increase awareness and destroy myths and expose abuse, neglect and corruption inside our City's homeless, housing and non-profit service programs, agencies and special interests about any thing or any person that threatens the health and safety of all San Franciscans, but especially our People most at risk.
Tips, complaints, photographs, videos, stories, rumors and official reports and documents are submitted from all kinds of people living and working in our City's streets, parks, shelters, SRO's (single room occupant hotel rooms) and service provider communities.
Residents from all walks of life have contribtued photos of real meals being served, shelter staff monitors asleep on the job, unsafe and unclean bathing, bedding and living conditions in our tax funded shelters and master leased SRO units.
We work independently and anonymously with local, county, state and federal agencies, investigators, investigative news reporters, advocacy groups and the people living and working inside these systems to prevent premature death, sickness and abuse.
Our SFHomeless Yahoo! Group's NowPublc.com web site has generated more than 20,000 Page Views in less than six months and our sites are visited from people from all over the world. Several law firms; major banks, politicians in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. and poverty law and social justice centers tune in every week to see exactly what's happening in San Francisco's homeless and housing communities without the hype and spin of politicians, special interest groups and mainstream media.
This site is as real and as shocking and intense as the way life really is in our City.
Become a part of the movement to drive out corruption and get back integrity, accountability and client participation back into every housing and homeless program, so we can all move forward, as one community, united against the abuse, neglect and corruption which had been our City's 'status quo' for nearly 15 years until this past year, when it all started to change - for the better, because of YOUR participation.
