I'm fascinated & enamored by the natural world and all aspects of "natural history"...in particular botany and entomology.

I love exploring wild, out-of-the-way places and seeking out their many delightful treasures, big & small (though, since I dislike changing lenses, I usually just leave my macro lens on the camera...and photograph the small ;-)

I also enjoy delving into the scientific literature and investigating things thoroughly (ID's, morphology, biogeography, life histories...and just about everything else ;-)...both because it helps me learn much more, and (less conspicuously) because it provides a subtly enriching (and often endearing) link to the many, many interesting people & personalities that came before us...and left in their writings an echo of their thinking, learning, and shared fascination & appreciation for the natural world.
