The Grand Prix Region
The Grand Prix Region of the Porsche Club of America received its Charter on February 7, 1981. We are one of 14 regions within Zone8 of PCA. The Region was formed to promote more driving events so that its members can learn to enjoy the Porsche Marque the way it was intended to be enjoyed. We put on Driving Events, Autocrosses, and a Concours d' Elegance each year. We also take time to get together to socialize, with events such as the New Member BBQ and December Holiday Party.
The Grand Prix Region of PCA Zone 8 covers the Los Angeles area bound by the I-710 on the west, I-5 on the east and the Orange County line on the South. We are a Region with about 600 members. The attraction to join GPX are the various activities and its friendly members. The club meets on the first Saturday of each month at Glory Day's Beachside, Seal Beach CA at 9:00 am. A buffet breakfast is provided for a fee. Coffee and kicking tires are on us.
Our President conducts meetings where information on future events and past event results are presented. All new Members are personally acknowledged at each meeting by the Membership committee. Door prizes of donated Porsche items are often given by random draw to attending members at our meetings.
GPX tries and has been very successful in providing excellent after meeting Tech sessions. The Tech sessions usually provide an increased knowledge of Porsche repair and maintenance. We occasionally will have a tech sessions that are not related to Porsches, but the session provides technical knowledge of machinery we often see and wonder about "How does that really work?". Our Tech Session to L A Helicopter is just one example.
GPX promotes and provides a friendly atmosphere where member can share ideas to make the Porsche ownership an enjoyable experience for all. We welcome all Porsche enthusiasts and encourage all activities that work to achieve our goals.
GPX truly believes that "It's not Just the Cars, it's the People."
