Birding since I was 13, I probably picked up my first camera only a year or two later. Four decades on, I returned to Bird photography and the in-depth study of ornithology in ernest, after years of carrying my Nikon D200 around war zones and the arctic, photographing people and landscapes.

Primarily shooting with a Nikon D500 and Nikon 500mm f4E, I'm frequently found on Chobham Common, in Surrey, close to where I live and work, or in the South African cape, where my extended family are from... but my passion for global ornithology takes me overseas as often as can manage, with a particular love of Africa.

My extensive library of images includes species from UK, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Barbados, St Lucia, Cambodia, Thailand, Mexico and Rwanda.
