I'm 31 years old and originally from Hinckley, Leicestershire, but currently live in South Derbyshire.

My interest in railways comes from my Dad, who took me on his photography trips pretty much from my birth! I was given my first camera aged 3 in 1997 and went digital in 2005 but it wasn't until my 18th birthday in 2011 that I had a DSLR camera. My Dad also has a Flickr account and it can be viewed here:www.flickr.com/photos/140710651@N05/ or search for Andy Sansome.

After having a bad time with a newer Canon I switched to Nikon in late 2020 and now use a D7500 with a 17-55mm lens. I try and cover the whole of Britain and aim to have one well lit photograph of each class of train in every livery carried during my lifetime. I like to photograph both at stations and line side as I think they have different advantages.
