Õne day last week (March 21, 2024), my 100,000th view took place. And, best of all, I still have not posted any nudes! To all of you from this humbled narcissist, thank you so very very much.

A long long time ago, it was a common practice to email very large attachments, and so I could send my photos to my friends conveniently. I have been slowly horrified more and more in the past 30 years as the monopolistic corporations take over the internet, and take it away from the people at large who used to enjoy it. The functionality is decreasing year by year, the boot speed gets slower and slower as clock speed and RAM and disk space all increase by magnitutdes, what happens is that the large corporates are freely allowed to command the great majority of bandwidth and RAM and CPU for purposes which are counter to my benefit and yet I still have to pay for them. They also throttle private users upload speed and attachment sizes because they are also in the business of selling crappy content so they don`t want common people sending good content around for free.

Anyway, what I am getting at is that the most efficient way for me to share my photos with my friends and family around the world now is to post them on Flickr.

If anyone else enjoys them, the ones that are public, well that is a plus for me, but its not my primary objective here.

Things will get worse and then I will adapt again.

Oh, I have a footnote to add to this ....in my new home in Brazil, in a small, poor city which is more than 500 miles away from any large city, one significant change is that my upload speed here has been increased by a factor of five.....so what my photos may lack in quality they can make up for in quantity. (also, it may be an issue for some that the cost of the connection here is equivalent to US $12/month ....not bad .....)
