The Friends of The Schoolmasters House Inc is a registered member of LandcareNSW. We are privileged to lease a 1.5 hectare space on Ash Island, in the Hunter Wetlands National Park, from National Parks and Wildlife Service. We have the use of The restored Schoolmasters House. The house is locally significant as it is the last of the habitable buildings on the estuary islands of the Hunter River to still be standing on its original footprint.

As a Landcare group we participate in and initiate many environmental conservation and restoration projects.

We have digitised the library of the former building occupant, the Kooragang Wetland Rehabilitation Project - a project of Hunter Local Land Services NSW.

The images come from KWRP's collection from its beginnings in 1993, and images created by Friends Group since 2018.
