Self taught woodcarver.Started carving approx,26 yrs ago after Specialists said that I could no longer work full time,my 1st Carving was a model Brigantine,all working rig,approx,3 foot long,with Ornate case,it won 1st prize at my 1st Art Contest,since then I have carved in excess of 600 Carvings from a 2 inch Angel to a 14 Carved Relief of Australian Pioneers,adapted from the Paintings of Tom Roberts(circa.1880's),I Carve Huon Pine,a very rare softwood found only in selected areas of the rugged west coast,a unique wood that is impervious to wood worm and very very slow to rot,a beautiful golden wood,which refines with age,as some pieces i have carved are dated over 2000 years old.
