Hi Everyone! My name is Ally Kane, born and raised in Saco, Maine. Currently living in Marina Del Rey, California while I am getting my graduate degree in Environmental Studies online from Green Mountain College.

I have never been super interested or necessarily good at photography, but I have always been captivated by nature’s beauty and complexity and would love to be able to capture it in photos. I hope to acquire these skills and tools in this Environmental photography course because photos can connect, educate, and inspire people all over the globe to care for and protect our Earth, even if it is of places or organisms they have never seen before.

My photography experience is little and is mostly limited to Polaroid’s, iPhone’s, and GoPro cameras. For this class I will be borrowing my roommates camera, it is a Nikon D3400 with what I believe is a DX VR lens (18-55mm).

During the duration of this course I will be doing some traveling, as I plan to visit my family in Maine, my fiancé’s family in Ohio, and my fiancé in Europe where he plays professional basketball. I am excited for my travels to provide me with a variety of environments to explore and capture.
