Yasser and I have been best friends since we were young children. He is a lawyer by training and a philosopher by nature. One aspect of him that recently emerged to the surprise of us both is that he is also a brilliant photographer. One day, having reconnected after years of being separated by oceans, continents, and twelve time zones, he showed me some of his photographs, and I immediately encouraged him to post his photos to be seen. He has a wonderful way of finding beauty in people, no matter their appearance, age, health, status, or any other consideration that he sees as superfluous to his vision. He immediately perceives and captures the spirit of the people he photographs and tells their stories in single images. He sympathizes and empathizes with his photographic subjects instantly and brings that empathy to the viewer. He also has a keen eye for composition, tone, and light.
