I'm a middle-aged bloke living in Scotland who has too much time on his hands and spends too much of it in the pointless pursuit of photographing trains in a pathetic attempt to relive the joy he experienced as a 12 year-old trainspotter growing up in Doncaster (also in Scotland).

I rediscovered the joy of trains a few years ago after a 40 year hiatus and will try to upload and write a short commentary one photo a day ... (see how long I keep that up for !)

I'm not after the 'perfect photo'. I'm not devoted to the 'front 3/4' shot but I'm not dead against it either. I like a bit of context. Sometimes, I even include humans in my photos. Sometimes I go for something a bit more ... I guess I'm just saying that I try to photograph what's there and whatever I feel like. I will now show all this to be untrue through what I actually post - which is whatever I feel like on the day.
