ANNOUNCEMENT
As you all know, the new terms and conditions for flickr accounts will apply as of February 2019. I received this announcement after I had joined flickr just a couple of months earlier, back in Spring 2018. The reason why I selected flickr was the fact that out of all free photo services, flickr offered a generous amount of web space when selecting the standard free account. Of course, there's also the great community and the comparatively sophisticated copyright protection. Within a few months, I didn't just edit and upload pictures, I often had to look up exact car model data (make, model, year, type) for almost every picture I uploaded. Uploading hasn't been easy right from the beginning: the flickr upload interface was (and still is!) prone to malfunction which apparently isn't exclusive to my computer. I spent a lot of work, time and patience in providing these pictures and my flickr page has gained a couple of followers.
Having uploaded 3.423 pictures would result in the deletion of more than two thirds of all the work I invested so far, unless I upgrade to an account subject to a monthly/yearly fee. I'm appreciative of changes that are supposed to result in better quality regarding the content here on flickr (at least, that's what flickr stated as the main reason for this change). However, forcing existing free account members that had joined flickr under drastically different conditions without actually offering any useful new advantages and innovation (e.g. the old upload interface), goes totally against the grain, no matter the cost. Therefore, I have decided not to upgrade to any new account here on flickr, which will result in the reduction of my pictures down to the number of 1.000. I might upload my pictures to a new free picture sharing platform at a later date. Thank you for your understanding.
Take care!
Sven Kaiser

I've always liked cars that used to be daily drivers. As a driver of two modern classics, I go to various classic car meets where I take pictures of cars from my youth, childhood and beyond. In my photo galleries, you'll find pictures of cars that have become rare on our roads. You won't find that many exotic cars, sports cars etc. though.
