I have respect for the prospectors and miners of the past. Many of them came west with nothing more than the shirt on their backs, then ventured into unforgiving deserts and mountains to find precious ores. They had no guarantee of finding anything, but they were willing to risk it. Through their grit, sweat, and blood they were able to build empires out of the dust. This account is dedicated to documenting their work and endurance. Mining is what built much of the American West into what it is today. Sadly that heritage has been forgotten. Old mining sites are being closed by governments and corporations with little regard to history. I hope to capture these sites through video, photography, and research so future generations can enjoy them. As I build a catalog I hope to develop online resources and publish a book one day of my findings.

***Abandoned mines are dangerous places. You should never enter an abandoned mine unless you have the proper training and equipment.***

***Mine locations are not normally shared to protect the sites from vandalism and to keep the public safe from the associated hazards.***
