First photograph 30906 Sherbourne at Bournemouth August 1962. At home our garden backed onto the Chester to Birkenhead line. Gave up on everything Railways after travelling on Nigel Gresley's inaugural run from Crewe to Carlisle and after steam on the Paddingtons finished with 7029 visiting Woodside. The only other time I ever saw a Castle on the line was 4079 around 1960 working the 7.45pm goods from Morpeth Dock, usually a Grange ,Hall or 47xx turn. Season ticket holder at Everton for 60 years. Picked up on railways again Autumn 1979 and am now on 42,000+ logged photographs. Member of most steam railways and many loco societies and an enthusiastic supporter of new builds.
