We are Artiste les Tordus, Johanne Charest and Robin Laverdure, 2 divergent and self-taught artists who have a lot of passion to express. We love Tim Burton and often you will find a little touch of his work throughout our art.

     

In recent years, we have expressed our artistic movement both in form and color. Our sculptures seem to be an extension of our minds and we liven them with expressive souls and at times you even find hidden messages.

     

We spend a lot of time observing people; sometimes their habits, expressions and thoughts can be found in our sculptures. An important aspect for us is our wandering mind; we dream all the time! Awake or asleep, half here and half elsewhere, we are dreamers, and every time we try to integrate the magic of our dreams in our work.

     

The spark of our passion was lit with a small introductory course in traditional forging. Since then, we have evolved; thereby, enabling us to express our passion and our expressive curiosity. In doing so, our work becomes transformed into creations of all kinds based on the inspiration of the moment.

     

The majority of our work is composed of recycled metal objects: copper parts, brass, stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum. These parts can be arranged, and everything can be assembled through welding and bolting. About 80% of our creations are made from recycled materials because we truly value reusing and recycling.

     

It has now been 9 years since the spark was ignited. We have worked hand-in-hand to build our creative universe in symbiosis. We work every day to make our dreams a reality and we believe that there is no limit to creativity. Often our limit is established by the human mind which concedes it.
