I started with 35mm photography when I was in my teens & developed & printed my own (b&w) photographs. I've also had a lot of art training (figure drawing, portraiture, illustration, color theory, etc.) & have been creating art all my life, though I don't have a formal degree. I don't consider myself a very technically proficient photographer, but I do approach photography as an art form, am reasonably proficient in Photoshop & use whatever digital tools are available to me to try to turn my photos into the best they can be.

I appreciate any comments/faves/followers & will at least check out your photostream if you leave a comment or follow me, but I will not automatically reciprocate. I comment on photos if I find them particularly appealing & follow photographers whose body of work I admire, but I don't expect them to reciprocate either. I try to post my photos in groups where I think they belong & generally accept invitations when they're offered, but I'm not interested in groups that have mandatory comment/award requirements or overly rigid rules.
