Brian Solomon has authored and illustrated more than 60 books on railways, architecture and cities including: Railway Depots, Stations & Terminals (Voyageur Press, 2015), North American Railroad Bridges (Voyageur Press, 2008), Dublin (Compendium, 2008), Ireland—History and Landscape (Compendium, 2008), and Railway Masterpieces (Krause Publications, 2002). His most recent book, Brian Solomon’s Railway Guide to Europe (Kalmbach Books, 2018) offers hands on advice on navigating Europe’s railway system. He is monthly columnist for Trains Magazine.

Solomon has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photographic Illustration with a minor in the History of Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

He divides his time between Massachusetts and Ireland, where he lives near Dublin’s Heuston Station
