There is a road in the hearts of all of us, hidden and seldom traveled, which leads to an unknown, secret place. The old people came literally to love the soil, and they sat or reclined on the ground with a feeling of being close to a mothering power. Their teepees were built upon the earth and their altars were made of earth. The soil was soothing, strengthening, cleansing and healing. That is why the old Indian still sits upon the earth instead of propping themselves up and away from its life giving forces. For them, to sit or lie upon the ground is to be able to think more deeply and to feel more keenly. They can see more clearly into the mysteries of life and come closer in kinship to other lives about them.

With a unique combination of spirituality, artistry and creativity, embracing a Native American Cherokee heritage, my artistry combines light and goodness in feathers and beading, adding a heartfelt prayer of grace to each delicate detail. Born into a family of early American settlers, with grandparents from the Cherokee Nation who lived off the land loving the Ozark Mountain forestry, my family taught me to love nature, to admire its brilliance and life giving capabilities.

I was adored and nurtured as a child and my love for crafting & bringing joy to other's through art began as early as I could hold a paintbrush. When I was 3 years old I won a Best of Show at the country fair. Every year of growing up I would enter 30+ items and I loved it!

My shop, Dream of Magic, brings this lifetime artistry to life, showcasing my wonderful, creator given, charming & inspired Native American items. Handcrafted with special attention to spirituality and customs, each item is made for the one who buys it, the one to whom it speaks, “take me home.”
