My name is Samantha Carter, I am currently pursuing a masters degree in environmental studies from Green Mountain College. I work full time producing gourmet ice pops for a company based in St. Augustine, Florida. I have always been drawn to photography have taken a few digital photography classes in high school. I purchased my first DSLR when I was 15 and upgraded to my current camera just before studying abroad in Spain when I was 19. I found my love for photography through reading National Geographic magazines. I wanted (and still would love the opportunity) to be a National Geographic photographer who travels the world and tells the stories I accumulated. I love nature photography, but also enjoy portraits and sports photography.

All photos have been taken on a Canon Rebel T5i. I have an 18-55mm lens as well as a 75-300mm lens. I have a small tripod and a monopod that has been used in the past for sports photography on the sidelines.

I hope to reinvigorate my passion for photography and fine tune skills I learned in past photography classes but may have forgotten. My long-term goal is to teach environmental studies at the collegiate level and this class will broaden my skill set and potentially allow me to teach an environmental photography class in the future.
