I am now retired but have spent most of my adult life taking photos as a hobby, sometimes more seriously than others depending on time, finances etc. I started on film with Minolta cameras and Rokkor lenses, then moved to Fuji bridge cameras followed by Panasonic m4/3 mirrorless to re-use my adapted Rokkors. I prefer mainly insect and wildlife type subjects and find I am now drawn back to bridge cameras. The IQ may not be as good but it's good enough for me, and is compensated by the more compact and lightweight kit that suits my opportunistic 'stroll and shoot' technique. All I carry now on walks is a bridge camera (usually a Panasonic), a flash and a few achromats. I may go back to m4/3 in the future, who knows.
