Hi, my name is Ross, I'm relatively new to photography and completely addicted already!

I bought my first DSLR in December 2017. The main reason behind my purchase was that I had just received my first telescope (I have been interested in astronomy for a few years now) and wanted to share the amazing sights I saw at the eyepiece with everyone. I don't think a lot of people realise how beautiful it is up there so seeing peoples reactions to a colourful nebula or close up of the moons craters was amazing. As well as prime focus photography with a telescope I also love to capture "starscape" shots of the brighter planets of our Solar System, constellations and the International Space Station passing overhead. One of my photography "bucket list" moments will be to view and capture the Milky Way itself which I have not been lucky enough to do yet due to living in very light polluted skies. Someday soon hopefully! (Edit. Recently accomplished! Yay!)

Having said all this, living in England, UK, it did not take me long to realise that there are a lot more cloudy nights than there are starry ones so I naturally progressed from night time photography to daytime in order to get my fix. I was always interested in nature, particularly birds, when I was younger so I purchased a budget 70-300mm lens and this immediately became my favourite thing to shoot during the daytime. I am lucky to live in an area with easy access to lots of lakes, forests and nature reserves to explore and I love to take photos of the beautiful wildlife and landscapes they have to offer.

Other than this I will generally take a photo of anything that catches my eye! I do not have a particular style of photography and am still experimenting with composition, lighting and post processing etc. but it is a journey that I am loving every second of. If you are reading this I hope you share my passion and enjoy my photos!

Ps. For some reason my EXIF data does not always seem to upload correctly so for reference the camera I use for all my photography is the Canon EOS 750d/T6i and one of either the Canon EF-S 18-55m f/3.5-5.6, Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 or Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lenses.
