I am an amateur in all senses of photography, especially with the technical aspects. I do feel that my "eye" for photo subjects is improving and I enjoy taking what looks good to me. My interest originated decades ago with my first instamatic camera and a Polaroid. I braved buying a 35mm Soviet camera(Kalimar) in the 60's, and even took a couple of photo classes in college(Western Michigan). I was in education and used photos and many slides in my classroom. As digital arrived, I swore never to switch "to the darkside". Eventually I did and love it! I am still sometimes tempted to dust off my old 35mm and take photos for old time sake. It is hard to do as it is so less expensive and time consuming with digital. I do really appreciate non digital photos when I see them.

Today, my garage is nicely finished inside and I have many of my photos of nature and lighthouses mounted in frames and in old windows. My working photography studio. I love photography of all kinds! Jim
