I am a US expat living in Northern Ireland (Norn Iron). I came over to do my Ph.D. in 2006 at the Institute of Cognition and Culture at Queen's University Belfast and met a girl, and the rest of the story is pretty predictable. Since moving to Norn Iron, I have never been without a camera. I never really thought of myself as a photographer, but over the years I have amassed (and continue to amass) over 20,000 photos that I have been going through and editing over the past year and half and sharing online here, on Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, and originally and still on Unsplash, where I have been featured a few times now.
