Steven Scott’s work as a Bayesian statistician and researcher has led him to solve problems in causal inference, educational testing, network security, biometrics, web browsing, e-commerce, and medical applications. During his tenure as Google’s Director of Statistics Research, he helped create an intergroup team that integrated R into the Google build system and provided libraries for internal users to use Google tools (e.g., BigTable, MapReduce) from within R.
