My general philosophy in photography is "captured as seen" with interfering as little as possible with the subject of interest. I want to depict the world and its details as anyone would be able to find it "in situ". However, sometimes small manipulations took place, like removing a prominent blade of grass either at the site or later on the computer. Those pictures are clearly identified in the description, with a label or tagged with "man". If you are interested in what exactly has been done, you are welcome to contact me. Pictures taken in generally more controlled circumstances such as in a Zoo or suchalike can be found in the captivity folder.

All pictures of my stream are sorted by local region and subdivided by topic. E.g. mammals in the Africa folder can also be found in the mammal folder and vice versa and african landscapes can be found in the landscape folder and the Africa folder and so on. So you can decide whether you want to browse all my pictures by region or by topic. The only exceptions from this rule are the pet-folder and the art-folder, which contain pictures that are not shown in other places.
