I live in Encinitas, California, about 4 miles from the ocean. I've been in Encinitas for 25 years. As a child, I lived in St. Louis, Missouri, South Bend, Indiana, and New Berlin, Wisconsin. Then I attended junior high school and high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Grandpa's farm in Minnesota was always part of our lives. Eventually, I found myself in an ownership role of the Minnesota farm. In the early 1980's I was an organic wheat and rye farmer. Olympia, Washington is where I began to feel at home as a young adult, and where I still have dear friends. As a child, my family moved a lot, as a result of Dad's job. As a professional, I continued to travel. I attended music schools at The Banff Centre of Fine Arts in Banff, Alberta, Canada, The Cornish School of Arts in Seattle, Washington, and others. My first career was as a performing pianist and harmonica player. Now I'm teaching jazz, blues, and classical piano lessons, harmonica lessons, jazz and classical music theory, and music composition. I used point and shoot cameras only, since 2001, until I started drone photography in 2015, at our farm in Minnesota. The drones were DJI Phantom 2 and DJI Phantom 4. In 2018 I got my first professional camera, the Sony a9. I lived in Latin America for 9 years, performing with The Jerry Michelsen Trio, mostly in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and San Juan, Puerto Rico. I also spent a fair amount of time with my trio, performing as a jazz pianist in the Caribbean, Peru, Bolivia, Alaska, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, and other parts of the United States. My languages are Spanish and English. Music is my passion. My hobbies are photography, wood working, and physics.
